You have arrived! At JET, we have AMAZING students who are campus leaders, excellent students, and just downright FUN! Be it through JET's semester crash courses in Judaism, trips all over the world, or Shabbos experiences in West Rogers Park or in fancy hotels, YOU will certainly make Jewish friends that will last a lifetime. But don't take our word for it, just listen to them! "Prior to the AEPi Jerusalem Road Trip, I was skeptical of many things: that I would be brainwashed into becoming more religious, that I would be forced to listen to boring lectures about Judaism, and that I would spend three weeks in Israel and not have any fun. That could not be farther from the truth. Instead of being brainwashed about how to be more Jewish, I was taught what it actually means to be Jewish. Instead of listening to boring lectures, I participated in insightful discussions led by some very smart and funny rabbis. Instead of having no fun, I had more fun in three weeks than I have had during the past two years of college. From hiking, rock repelling, camping, talking about life with rabbis, to eating great food with families during Shabbat, exploring the Jerusalem night life, this experience was a once in a life time opportunity. Above all else, I got to spend three weeks in Jerusalem with my brothers. For now, I'm no more religious than I was before the trip. However, I am a much better leader and I am a much better person. "I boarded a plane from Chicago to New Jersey for Aish HaTorah's 12-day Women's Enterprize Trip. I knew three things about this trip: I would be meeting some sort of business people, learning something Jewish, and sightseeing in NYC...The 12 days were unforgettable! We didn't meet some sort of business people. No, we met with Estee Lauder's grandson; the VPs of Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Kenneth Cole; the CEO of Iconix (Kenneth Cole's brother, Neil); the Senior Producer of Reuters; and many more! ...They spoke to us of how they got into the business (or how they started it), what it is like to keep it up in the current economic conditions, and how Judaism affects their lives. Interesting fact: most of the people mentioned above have regular weekly Torah learning sessions with Aish rabbis! Who would have thought that they could make time for it? ...I met unbelievable Jewish entrepreneurs, listened to exciting lectures, and participated in intense challenges. I made some wonderful friends - girls on the trip, the group leaders, the families with whom we stayed, and our trip rabbi and rebbetzin, Rabbi Shalom Yona Weiss and Sarah Weiss. There was always a lot of food, laughter, and fun. If you have the opportunity to go on any Aish trip, don't chicken out. It will be the trip of a lifetime." |
